Here are a few links to Web sites we've seen that have something interesting to offer about Riesling and have an English version available. For individual wineries that have Web sites, the Internet addresses are listed with their entries in the Estates section.
CIVA (Conseil Interprofessionnel des Vins d'Alsace)
CIVA is Alsace's primary trade group for winemaking and wine marketing. They have lots of interesting information, plus booklets, maps and books on Alsace wine.
Deutsche Weine Online
A non-commercial site hosted in Germany by the German Wine Institute.
GermanWine.de The German Winegrowers Platform
Another non-commercial site hosted in Germany. It's a bit rambling, but there is some interesting information there.
German Wine Information Bureau
The U.S. branch of the German Wine Institute. Lots of interesting information on German wine and winemaking. Plus they have booklets available on the wines, wine regions and winery visits.
Kansas City Cellarmasters
Non-commercial wine club site.
On The Rail
An active online community for professionals in the restaurant industry. Witty and clever.
Peter Ruhrberg's German Wine Page
Peter Ruhrberg is an e-commerce developer in Germany who is also a wine fanatic (most educated people are!). He put up this non-commercial, informational site in 1995 and updates it regularly.
Robin Garr's Wine Lovers Page
Lots of information, tasting notes and articles on one of the longest-running wine Web sites. The Wine Lovers Page is an online media partner of ours, so you will also find there an article from a recent issue of Riesling Report.
Germany's association of top wine estates. The site is a little awkward to use and the English version is a little out of date. Still, if you can read a little German, the events schedule is complete and up to date.
Vineyard & Winery Management
A U.S. trade publication for wine growers and sponsor of the International Eastern Wine Competition in New York, which will initiate the World Riesling Championship in 2002.
A fairly thorough non-commercial site with lots of information about German wine regions and producers. Many links to producer and trade group Web sites, as well. In German only.
Wine Press Northwest
This publication is for anyone with an interest in wine from the novice to the veteran. Wine Press Northwest focuses on the talented winemakers of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia, as well as the wineshops and restaurants that showcase Northwest wines.
Wines from Austria
An exceptionally well-designed Web site with a lot of information about the amazing new wines coming from Austria. It includes links to many producers, although the list of producers is not exhaustive and there is no information given about producers who do not have Web sites.
