Riesling Estates in Mittelrhein
This is the 60-mile stretch of the Rhine river between Bingen in Rheingau and Koblenz, where the Mosel joins in. The wines fall somewhere between these other two regions in style. They are more soil-driven than Mosel wines, but not as earthy and full-bodied as Rheingau. A river cruise from Bingen to Koblenz is not to be missed. It’s the best way to see the vineyards and the many impressive old castles looming above.
